Welcome Reception / Boat Parade

We are thrilled to welcome you back to ZZYC after a long winter away. Join us for our season opener on Sunday June 30th for a special welcome reception followed by our first ever boat parade! This event is open to one and all, at no cost. Meet our club director, new staff and volunteers, who are eager to make your experience at the club unforgettable. You’ll have the chance to learn about new activities and events happening this year and get a sneak peak at our exciting summer line-up. 

Enjoy refreshments and catch up with with ZZYC members, neighbours and friends as we kick off the season! Online registration is appreciated but not required.

ZZYC 1st Canada Day Boat Parade 

June 30th 8pm 

In lieu of fireworks to protect our wildlife, join us for our first ever Canada Day family Boat Parade. What better way to celebrate Canada Day than a family cruise down the lake as the sun is setting with all of your lake friends. Come help us light up the sky with boat lights, boat decor, and your best Canada themed attire as we celebrate Canada. 

Start floating around ZZYC  island at 8pm to follow the boat parade captain and they lead us down the lake.

Meet us at the docks on Saturday, July 20th for a night of Cuban flavors, salsa dancing and mojitomemories as we transport ourselves to the vibrant Zig Zag Yacht Club at this years Dinner Dance, our very own Havana nights. 

Dress code is your tropical best, think vibrant colored outfits, and classic panama hats. Don't forget your dance shoes to salsa the night away. 

Sip on your Cuba libre while browsing our exciting auction prizes- from luxurious getaways to one of a kind art work there is something for everyone! 

Last years wildly successful event had us sold out in record time. This year to thank our dedicated club families we will be offering ticket sales to members first before opening them up to the rest of our community. 2024 Zig Zag Regatta

Join us for a day on the water with 2 courses to challenge our sailors of ALL ability levels ages 8 to adult. Sail alone or in tandem, bring your own boat or contact our Head Sailing instructors to arrange use of one of ours.

Regatta Schedule:

9:00am - Rigging boats / Competitor meeting

9:30am - Course 1 race start

12:30pm - Lunch on the water 

1:30pm - Course 2 race start

4:00pm - Race close

5:00pm - Regatta BBQ / Awards

* Registration only required for those participating in racing. Free event for others to come watch, BBQ available for purchase to all.

Thursday August 8^th, 2024 -  7-10pm

You are invited to come play Euchre with David and Kathleen Reid who are hosting a Euchre Tournament at the Club. $10 per person will get you in the door, and play will be according to Reid house rules which will be provided at the event.  

No need to come with a partner, as players will be rotating tables and playing with different partners throughout the evening. All players will accumulate a personal score to determine the ranking. Prizes for first, second, and last place! If you are Euchred…it will cost you a Toonie! So come prepared! The last player to win a go-alone hand will receive the Euchre pot. 

Need to brush up on your skills? David and Kathleen Reid will be happy to help you tune up your card playing!

ZZYC Fishing Derby: Saturday August 12th 

Attention all fishermen and fisherwomen! Join us for the ZZYC fishing derby sponsored by TBD on August 10th. This NEW one day competition will have plenty of prizes up for grabs at the end of the day. Show off your fishing skills as you attempt to catch the biggest and best fish.

The competition is open to all, regardless of experience level or age. Families and kids are welcome! 

Family Breakfast and Boat Test Drive: Saturday August 11^th  

Come join us for an afternoon of fun and games at the ZZYC! Bring your family and friends for the BBQ and cheer on the fishing derby participants as they return to the docks. Kids can participate in craft activities and purchase tickets in hopes that their duck wins the famous ZZYC Duck Race!  Afterwards, join us for a delicious BBQ feast with all the fixings. And don’t forget the dessert!
