This class is focused on all things running. Expect to do running technique drills, special exercises to strengthen your feet, ankles and knees. Learn mobility drills to do before you run. Best of all, expect to do a combination of interval training in the sand and on the hill. This is a medium to high intensity class and is not appropriate for anyone with current lower body injuries. All levels of runners are welcome to this group. Ages 16 to Adult.
For your own personal safety, Fitness Classes this summer will be focused on bodyweight exercises (i.e. no special equipment required).
We are inviting participants in the Fitness Classes to bring the following equipment with them to each class in order to enhance their experience.
1. Yoga Mat or Gym Mat or Thick Towel (at times we will be doing exercises on the ground in the sand court or on the deck)
OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT FOR INCREASED LOAD
- 2 x Cans of Food (these will be used as weights) or 2 x 1-3 lb dumbbells.
- BackPack Filled up with load (i.e. books, more cans of food, a big bag of pet food, ...)
Equipment cannot be left at the club and should be brought back to your cottage/home after each session.
No sharing of any equipment or water bottles will be permitted.
** Buy a Fitness Pass and use it for "Run for the Hills", "Adult Strength & Conditioning", and "Upgrade your Range of Motion" classes!
