4-Laning Highway 17 - On the Road Again!

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has announced construction to begin in 2019 for this project. Converting the stretch of highway between the Ontario/Manitoba border and Kenora into a four-lane highway has been a long time coming, and the announcement was a welcome one. In November 2018 the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) held a public information meeting in Kenora to present the plan and timeline for the project and to introduce the preferred and alternative routes for the first 6 km section to be built.
